Meet Sam!

Storm Corps Team Leaders: Getting to Know You Questionnaire

The Basics
1. Name: Samantha Spitzer
2. Nickname(s): Sam
3. Hometown: Troy, Michigan
4. Where you live now: Mill Creek, Washington (20 miles north of Seattle)
5. Favorite thing about where you live now: Mountains, fresh air, casual lifestyle, liberal culture
6. College(s) attended and degree(s) received: BA in Organizational Community from Western Michigan University, MA in Dispute Resolution from Wayne State University

Work
7. United Way where you work: United Way of Snohomish County
8. Job title: Impact & Investment Manager
9. Work accomplishment you are most proud of: Strong relationships with volunteers. We hug each other, a volunteer sent me flowers on my birthday, we share family stories, and we get really good community impact work done. That is a wonderful thing.
10. What first brought you to United Way: Eight years ago a United Way funded program helped my brother, who has special needs, find a job. I will never forget how hopeful, relieved, secure, and proud that made my family feel.
11. Why you stay with United Way: The volunteer component is what inspires and motivates me every day.

Storm Corps
12. Why you applied to be a Team Leader: I can think of nothing better than slinging mud, roughing it, meeting amazing people, and helping rebuild a community. This opportunity totally fits my personality and interests.
13. First reaction when you found out you were accepted: I just remember being so excited that I wanted to do cartwheels!
14. What you are most excited about: Working with the Team Leaders and young people. The team aspect is what excites me most.
15. What you are least excited about: The food! I have to be a picky eater because of food allergies (dairy – including whey and butter – soy, nuts, yeast, dried fruit), so the prospect of not having access to all the foods I can eat is a little scary. I am used to managing my allergies and making do, but the food is the one and only thing I am least excited about.
16. What you could step up and do really well if needed: Motivate, inspire, and help people manage sore muscles and low energy. I practice yoga and meditation daily and have a great ability to find - and help others find - balance, energy, inspiration, and truth in any situation. I can also suggest a yoga pose for almost any ailment. I am also a morning person and can be counted on to complete any pre-sunrise task. Finally, I am a certified mediator (not to be confused with meditator) and could help people resolve problems.
17. What you would rather not have to do: I am not an evening person! If you need somebody to think through a problem at 10pm, I may not be the best person to ask. Try again at 5am!
18. What you are hoping to get out of Storm Corps: I have no expectations for what I will get out of Storm Corps, but I know that my life will be enhanced tremendously because of the experience.

Fun
19. Secret – or not so secret - talent(s) you are willing to share: Yoga, love of animals and nature. I can turn my feet around backwards, that is a pretty good party trick.
20. Hobbies: Yoga, meditation, running, swimming, reading, parrots, sushi.
21. People and/or animals you live with: My husband, Stephen, and my baby Cockatiels, Darwin and Yogi.
22. Things you want/plan to do in the near future: Running a marathon on April 2, going to Alaska in June, participating in a 200-hour yoga teacher training program starting this fall. I would love to travel to another country by the end of the year.
23. Things you want/plan to do in a while: Planning a trip to Bali in June 2007. Would like to add an African Grey and Cockatoo to my parrot family and take a 180-day trip around the world. One day, I would to work with pre-teens and build their self-esteem and focus through yoga and running.
24. Three adjectives that best describe you: Energetic, optimistic, pursuer of dreams
25. Three adjectives that definitely would not describe you: Lazy, quiet, weak
26. Personal motto or mantra: Namaste
27. What you are most proud of: Living a balanced, centered life and following my heart along the way.

Favorites
28. Food: Sushi, Thai coconut curry, hummus, salads, cereal
29. Book: Einstein’s Dreams, Celestine Prophecy, travel/adventure stories
30. TV show: Survivor, 24, nature documentaries
31. Movie: Legally Blond, Pirates of the Caribbean
32. Quote: 1) “20 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover.” Mark Twain. 2) “Live the life you’ve imagined.” Thoreau.

Anything else you want to share? This can be fun, personal, medical, work related, etc. Basically anything else you want us to know about you. Not right now!

TOPIC :: 100 percent free christian online dating service

Although it may be argued that caste, creed, and religion may often play a negligible part in the modern day dating scene, still there are people who consider these things important and an essential part of their life. The most important and wide ranging question is the question of religion. In the United States Christianity is a major religion. A preponderance of its citizens young and old consider themselves Christians. Keeping this in mind, numerous free Christian dating sites have emerged.

Christian dating sites are unique in the sense that they generally do not allow people or do not consider them eligible to be members if they do not suit the criterion of being Christian. In this sense it narrows the number of members by concentrating on the religious orientation of the members.

Free Christian dating sites are unique in the sense that these sites provide ample scope for Christians to enjoy dating. There are many people who abide by religious customs. Many of these do not want to date or be in a relationship with someone who does not belong to the same religion. They would rather opt out of the other free dating sites.

All free dating sites operate on a system whereby you post a profile of yourself and look for others with similar interests. Your membership is paid for by ads.
